An announcement has been made on the outcome of this appointment.
Karen Manners has been appointed by exception as interim chair of the Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel.
The exceptional appointment was made to cover the vacancy resulting from the recent resignation of the last chair. Preparations are already underway to recruit for a new substantive chair.
Karen will serve from 24 March 2020 for a period of up to 9 months, standing down as soon as a substantive chair is in place. Remuneration is £500 a day for an estimated time commitment of 6 to 8 days per month.
She has not declared any conflicts of interest or political activity.
The Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel is an independent expert committee which looks at all cases of serious harm or death of a child where abuse or neglect is suspected.
