East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) is making a positive difference to thousands of people’s lives, working alongside our patients, communities and partners, to ensure that we are providing responsive and effective support so that they can fulfil their potential.
ELFT has been rated as ‘Outstanding’ by our regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in September 2016 and again in June 2018, and is financially robust and an active system leader, both locally and nationally. We believe that staff who feel valued by the Trust and are truly engaged in the organisation deliver better outcomes for our patients.
We are recognised internationally for our ambitious quality improvement programme, which has transformed the culture of the Trust and the way we work with our staff. We are also internationally well regarded for the way we work meaningfully alongside our service users and carers in all aspects of our work.
We have embarked on a new ambition which will ensure that we will maintain our high quality of service delivery whilst becoming a lead provider of integrated care and improving the health and wellbeing of the communities that we serve.
We are seeking an experienced and talented individual who will add value to our strong, vibrant and forward thinking Board and who has experience and a strong interest in frontline quality and quality improvement. Preferably, you will have strong connections with or in depth knowledge of Bedfordshire and Luton, have lived or personal experience as a service user or carer, and/or have clinical experience. A sound understanding of the NHS and/or third sector would be an advantage.
You will need sound judgement and possess a clear understanding of governance along with a commitment to public service values and a collegiate approach. It is essential that candidates have worked at a senior level in a large, complex organisation, and are able to make a distinct contribution to the strategic direction and future success of ELFT.
We are proud that we are one of the most diverse Boards in the NHS and understand the benefits this brings to the quality of services and effective decision making. We therefore actively encourage applications that will assist to maintain that diversity.
