Vacancy Description

ECP Dietary Exposure Member (one post) Ref: ECP 01/2019
Candidates should have expertise in the metabolism of pesticides in plants and livestock, pesticide residues, and the assessment of dietary exposure in humans, with experience of relevant studies and their interpretation. Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management procedures relevant to human exposures to chemicals is particularly relevant.

ECP Ecology/Ecotoxicology Member (one post) Ref: ECP 02/2019
Expertise in ecotoxicology and environmental risk assessment is required. Experience in experimental ecotoxicology would be advantageous. The post requires a breadth of expertise since the ECP deals with issues related to potential pesticide effects on birds, mammals, terrestrial non-target invertebrates and non-target plants

ECP Lay Member (environmental and consumer affairs) (one post) Ref: ECP 03/2019
You will have a broad understanding of environmental and sustainability and consumer issues in relation to the use of pesticides, you will have the ability to reflect the views of the public at scientific/technical events

Person Specification

ECP Dietary Exposure Member
• Considerable scientific or other relevant expertise in metabolism of pesticides in plants and livestock, pesticide residues, and have gained recognition in the scientific or other relevant community in that field.

• Expertise in the assessment of dietary exposure in humans, with experience of relevant studies and their interpretation.

ECP Ecology/Ecotoxicology Member
• Considerable scientific experience in ecotoxicology and environmental risk assessment, and have gained recognition in the scientific or other relevant community in that field.

• Breadth of expertise relating to potential pesticide effects on birds, mammals, terrestrial non-target invertebrates and non-target plants

ECP Lay Member
• The ability to reflect the views of the public at scientific/technical events

Additional Information

Meetings are usually held at the Defra offices in York, however some meetings may be held elsewhere in the UK.

Interviews will be held in London.
